Objectives of
conducting the Oral Test
To test whether the student is able to .....
l. Listen with understanding words, phrases, short sentences, short paragraphs, etc.
2. Listen to write words, phrases and sentences correctly.
3. Pronounce words, phrases and sentences in an acceptable way and use correct stress and intonation patterns.
4. Read loudly an unseen text in fluent way with appropriate pauses and speed, havmg an understanding ofthe text.
5. Narrate / describe events / anecdotes / stories fluently, correctly and confidently.
6. Converse on topics of general interests using appropriate vocabulary.
7. Distinguish contrastive sounds and identify correct stress.
8. Writing short answers to the question on a given topic.
9. Participate in a group discussion on a given topic.
10. Report events and give and extempore speech.
11. Use oral English independently and confidently.
12. Speak in English in a variety of contexts on different topics / subjects.
